Query Letter and Proposal Preparation
Catch the eye of an agent or editor with a polished query letter and book proposal. Packages are customized for each client and can include comps research, help defining a target audience, a marketing plan, and more. Contact me for pricing.

Developmental EditingList Item 4
If you are looking for guidance with the organization of your book, tone, character development, or other big-picture items, developmental editing is essential. Making multiple passes through the manuscript, I will help guide overall organization of the book; evaluate pacing, narrative arc, character development, tone, and timeline; rearrange chapters; move or rewrite paragraphs and sentences; suggest additions, deletions, or rewrites; and query anything that is unclear.
This is a two-step process. You receive an editorial letter outlining my suggestions along with an annotated manuscript, followed by a line edit. $0.067/word

Line Editing
When the material is organized the way you like it but you still need significant help getting the text where it needs to be, substantive editing is the service you need. With substantive editing, I read the manuscript twice and provide an in-depth assessment of character development, plot, narrative arc, pacing, and dialogue, along with guidance for fixing problem areas. I also correct punctuation, grammar, syntax, and capitalization. This service is more in-depth than copyediting but not as all-encompassing as developmental editing. $.035/word

CopyeditingList Item 3
This service is best performed after your manuscript has a set beginning, middle, and end. In copyediting, I read your manuscript twice to correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, style, word choice, and sense; ensure consistency; evaluate timeline, plot, and pacing; rewrite some sentences; suggest additions and deletions as needed; and query anything that is unclear. $0.027/word

Coaching: Work with Me One-on-One
If you need a little extra motivation or want more personalized direction for your writing project, let me coach you to the finish line. I will work with you one-on-one via Zoom to help you master your most difficult writing challenges. Each session is $110. Scheduling is flexible to meet your budget and goals.
